So like many people in my grade, i need to add ALOT to my portfolio. I decided this summer to put alot of time into adding work and to expand my style as well.
The plan is to work on two pictures at a time, one anime (a style i mostly draw in) and one not anime. And when i say "not anime" i mean anything not anime, it might be a poster, a sculpture, or a animation...anything. Here are the first two projects, any advice that will help better the final results will be highly appreciated.
PROJECT 1 : Bernini Re-Hash
This picture is a re-creation on one of my favorite sculptures, "Ecstasy of St. Teresa" by Bernini
My original idea was to recreate old (mostly renaissance art) using the characters i created. St. Teresa is replaced with my character for Death. I wanted her placed atop a cloud of dead bodies with that same expression of pleasure. The angel however descends to kill her, as oppose to bringing her gods message. I decided to make the second wing bigger to add that daunting feeling. With the saint i wasn't sure if i should blacken her cloak of not but i guess ill leave that up to comments :).
PROJECT 2: Portrait
This was the non anime picture. Its a portrait of my little brother, with the background changed to a beach landscape. I wanted it to be a fisheye perspective and a very colorful background.
This was the first sketch. I added it to Photoshop afterwards to add color.
Here is a work in progress for the Photoshop drawing. I wanna say about 20% done. I added in a lot of the color but still need to add in the detail. the composition is what im mostly concerned about. i didn't want the picture look too cramped, especially with this perspective.

I like the different range of work your are postin; keep it up....we all know you like anime, and your good at it.Its nice to see that your able to post your anime pictures AND other types.
